Post-GED/HiSET Scholarship

  • Specifically for students who did not earn a high school diploma but who passed one of the following standardized exams in the State of Colorado — the General Education Development (GED) exam or the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET).

Other requirements:

  • Must be classified as a Colorado resident or Colorado ASSET student for tuition purposes
  • If not a Colorado ASSET student, must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, such as a permanent U.S. resident
  • A short essay
  • An uploaded PDF of GED or HiSET passing scores (available via DiplomaSender.com)
  • A documented appointment (via Navigate) with an RRCC Navigator, RRCC Academic Advisor or other RRCC staff member prior to submitting the application, to learn about campus resources and program options
  • Letter of recommendation

Award Details:
This scholarship will cover up to 12 college credits (tuition only) for one semester (Fall 2026). Registration fees, course fees, books and other educational expenses associated with the college courses are the responsibility of the student.

  • There is no limit on how many times a student can apply for this scholarship, but the scholarship can be received only once, during a single semester.
  • The approximate value of this scholarship is $2,029.20 based on full-time enrollment in on-campus courses for one semesters.
  • Scholarships or financial awards issued by the College may be adjusted if the student qualifies for a need based financial aid award, according to federal or state guidelines.
  • Submitting a financial aid application is highly recommended, as well as selecting a program of study since most aid requires it.
  • Completion of this scholarship application does not guarantee an award. All completed applications that meet the minimum scholarship requirements will be reviewed after the deadline. Those who met the minimum qualifications listed will be notified within two weeks after the application deadline via their cccs student email regarding whether or not they were selected.
