Community Leaders Scholarship

Specifically for 2024-2025 graduating high school Seniors — The 25/26 Community Leaders Scholarship is merit-based. Applicants should discuss how their community service/volunteer work has positively impacted their community or the environment, as well as what they have gained personally from their involvement. Additionally, applicants should discuss how their college education will further impact their service to the community.

Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Demonstrate significant community involvement and/or volunteer participation
• 24/25 Colorado high school graduate
• Considered a Colorado resident for tuition purposes (COF eligible)
• Upload a letter of nomination from a high school counselor or teacher.
• Upload unofficial high school transcript that demonstrates a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale
• If your high school does not provide a transcript with grades and/or credit hours, you must provide two sources of information to be considered for this scholarship:
ACT sub test scores of 18+ (English) and 23+ (math) or SAT test scores of 470+ (English) and 560+ (math) and
• Proof of a competitive academic process at your high school, or a portfolio

Conditions of being a Community Leader Scholar

  • Must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester the award is received, and maintain a 75% or higher credit completion rate
  • Must maintain a GPA of 3.25 each semester while working towards an Associate or a Bachelor’s Degree at RRCC. (A certificate may be declared as a Priority 2/secondary program of study.)

Other important Notes:
»This scholarship pertains to 2024/2025 Colorado high school graduates only. High school students who choose to be in the ASCENT program or TREP program are electing to delay their high school graduation and thus do not qualify for this scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year (nor the 2026-2027 academic year if in TREP).
»Scholarships or financial awards issued by the College may be reduced if the student qualifies for a need based financial aid award, according to federal or state guidelines.
»Students may receive only one of the following RRCC institutional scholarships – Community Leaders, First Generation, Early High School Senior Achievement, and RRCC-Warren Tech.
»Completion of this scholarship application does not guarantee an award. All completed applications that meet the scholarship requirements will be reviewed after the deadline. Those who met the minimum qualifications listed will be notified in April 2025 via cccs student email regarding whether or not they were selected.
Submitting a financial aid application is highly recommended.
»Students receive a cccs student email address approximately 48 hours after they register for a RRCC course(s).
